a jury approved the death penalty for Scott Eizember, who was convicted of killing an elderly couple after breaking into their home.
Eizember, 44, was convicted Tuesday of 1st-degree murder for the bludgeoning death of A.J. Cantrell, 76, and 2nd-degree murder in the shotgun slaying of Patsy Cantrell, 70. Both were found dead in their home on Oct. 18, 2003.
The jury previously sentenced him to 150 years in prison for Patsy Cantrell's death.
The court formally will sentence Eizember on March 24.
