A jury deliberated a death sentence against Christopher Kennedy, 22. Kennedy was convicted Thursday of 1st-degree murder in the robbery-slaying of store manager Michael Richardson, 35, on Jan. 19, 2003. Three other men, Jamaar Richardson, 22, his brother James Richardson, 24, and Lavar Brown, 26, were convicted Thursday of 2nd-degree murder, robbery and conspiracy and face a mandatory life sentence with no parole. The Richardson brothers are not related to the victim. Kennedy testified at the trial, admitting he shot the store manager in the leg but denying that he killed him. He said he didn't know who did. Sentencing has been set for Sept. 9.
