A large group of women, members of the Phoenix community converged on the Verulam Regional Court, north of Durban and staged a placard protest in front of the court entrance morning while three suspects appeared in connection with March 1 gang rape of a seven-year-old girl. The girl was abducted from school and gang raped by six men.Police arrested three suspects, including a former policeman, and were continuing the search for another three suspects.. The placards read: "Hang child rapists", "Reinstate the death penalty" and "We love our children".Also among the protesters was a young girl, about seven years of age, whose placard read: "Castrate child rapists".
