a man has been executed after he was found guilty of committing murders, the Diwaniya’s anti-terror office director said, adding death sentences were handed down against 42 on the same charges.
“A dangerous criminal who had killed several civilians during the past couple of years in Diwaniya was executed,” Lt. Colonel Sattar Ali Matar told Aswat al-Iraq.
He declined “for security reasons” to say when the man was executed.
Matar said that the Federal Supreme Criminal Court in Diwaniya also sentenced 42 defendants to death on the same charges.
