A man was condemned to death for killing four of his relatives in cold blood.
Praveen Kumar, 39, a tailor from Uppinangady, was found guilty of bludgeoning to death with a wooden club his aunt Appi Sherigarthi, 70, her son Govinda, 22, daughter Shakuntala, 28 and granddaughter Deepika, 10, for gain on February 24, 1994.
"The accused is a menace to society, and sentence of life would be inadequate. Besides, the crime committed by him is brutal and diabolic, and against the norms of humanity, the human relationship and social set-up," Principal Sessions Judge Indrakala B.S observed in her ruling.
