A recent poll in Texas showed that only a bare majority (53%) support the death penalty if the death row inmate has "shown signs of turning his or her life around." In another poll conducted by the Public Policy Resource Laboratory of Texas A&M University, 47.5% of the respondents favored a life sentence with no possibility of parole over the death penalty, with 13% unsure and 39.5% favoring executions.
