A regional trial court meted out the death penalty to two brothers for raping their young niece. Silay RTC Judge Felipe Banzon also ordered the brothers to pay the victim P75,000 in moral and exemplary damages.
Another brother was found guilty of attempted rape and was sentenced to 18-20 years imprisonment. The girl was first raped in 1995 when she was 8, and the abuse continued until 1999. The victim was able to tell her mother of her ordeal.
