a Sokoto High court in Nigeria sentenced Mohammed Ladan to death by hanging for killing his mother-in-law, Hauwa Mohammed. Ladan, a Tangaza Local Government employee and student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, allegedly beat Mohammed and strangled her on February 26, 2002, in Tangaza local government area of the state. The presiding judge, Justice Dogon Daji, in passing the sentence, said the convict deserved it.
