A Special Anti Terrorist Court condemned Riaz Akhtar and Nawaz to death for an abduction cum rape case. The court also ordered 30 lashes to be given to each accused in front of Kot Lakhpat Jail. According to the prosecution, the accused had abducted one Perveen Akhtar on July 22, 1998 and took her to a house at Upper Mall Lahore where they criminally assaulted her. Later they threw her on the bank of a canal and fled.
