A witch doctor found guilty of sacrificing a nine-year-old boy six years ago was sentenced to death by a Jharkhand court. Son Lal Besra, a black magic practitioner was awarded the death penalty by the sessions judge for killing Chaku Besra, his neighbour, to appease a deity. The father of the victim, Somnath Besra, lodged a complaint with police. "My son was kidnapped by my neighbour Son Lal when I had gone to the field. My son was depressed because he had lost his mother. Son Lal lured my son to his house by offering him sweets and killed him," Somnath was quoted as saying.
