About 100 Afghan students held a demonstration in front of the Afghan embassy in Islamabad in Pakistan. They were condemning the inexcusable behaviour of the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police, which had caused death of a number of Kabul University students a few days before. Mr Omar Mansoor Ansari told Afghan Islamic Press: "The protest was held to show solidarity with the students of Kabul University and to condemn the police firing and irresponsible stand of a high-ranking official of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Din Mohammad Jurrat [transliterated]." He said: " Din Mohammad Jurrat and other careless officials should be removed, murderers should be punished and students should be given their rights." Mr Omar Mansoor Ansari added: "We ask the government of Afghanistan to not treat the murderers of students as the murderers of Dr Abdorrahman [the assassinated minister of aviation and tourism] and Haji Abdol Qadir [Afghanistan 's assassinated vice-president], who were not punished. They should be punished and should be hanged in public."
