a lower court in Kabul, Afghanistan, sentenced to death two men charged with the murder of a hire car driver. Sala Khan and Mohammad Juma, from Alishang district of the eastern Laghman province, were convicted by the Ninth District's court of killing Abdul Habib from Nimroz province.
The two were charged with stabbing to death and beheading Abdul Habib, whose car they had hired from Kandahar to Kabul on December 1, 2004. Ghazni police had found Habib's body on a roadside on the highway a day after he was beheaded.
