ALGERIA: EIGHT ISLAMIST MILITANTS SENTENCED TO DEATH

eight Islamist militants still on the run were sentenced to death by an Algerian court on terrorism charges, a judicial source said. A court in Boumerdes, 50 kilometers east of Algiers, convicted them of belonging to an armed terrorist group, of attempting murder and ambushes and destroying public property with explosives.
