Amnesty International released a report stating that the Macedonian government should investigate serious human rights violations which occurred in Aracinovo earlier this year and ensure that they are never repeated. Amnesty International claimed in the report that Aracinovo was the scene of "torture, ill-treatment and a possible extrajudicial execution" inflicted on ethnic Albanians at the hands of local police following the murder of three police officers in the village on January 11.
