AMNESTY URGES TAIWAN TO SCRAP DEATH PENALTY

Amnesty International called on Taiwan's President to abolish the death penalty. "We look to Taiwan as a leader in the region on progress towards abolition," Amnesty International interim Secretary General Claudio Cordone said. "In a time of heightened political debate, we urge you to demonstrate leadership."
