an anti-terrorism court in Chakwal, Pakistan, awarded death sentence to five kidnappers who abducted a trader and his friend for ransom a year ago. Judge Rana Masood Akhtar of Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on each culprit and directed them to pay fine to both victims. A poultry farm owner Abdul Jalil was going to drop his friend Kashif Nadeem at Balkassar Interchange on September 26, 2012 in his car. On the way both persons were ambushed by a gang of five kidnappers who were hiding in the bushes. The five kidnappers abducted Jalil and Kashif at gunpoint and took them along with the car to Chakrala area of Mianwali District. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs20 million. The special team of Chakwal Police raided the hideout of criminals when they were about to shift both victims to the tribal areas. Police team not only arrested the five kidnappers but also recovered Jalil and Kashif. The five kidnappers were identified as Saeed Khan a resident of Mardan, Bakhtiaruddin, Kalimuddin and Iqbal Shah, residents of Nowshehra and Shahzad Khan a resident of Khai Village of Chakwal. After a speedy trial of one year the court found all the five gangsters guilty and sentenced them to death.
