An Azerbaijani national was sentenced to death in Kazakhstan for murdering five people. The Kustanai Regional Court declared Eldar Allakhverdiyev, 30, guilty of murdering two pensioners and a three-member family in order to steal their money and property in 2001 and 2002. Yevgeny Kostyanoi, 28, was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment for complicity in one of the murders.
