An Indian man, Janjana Arana, was executed in Saudi Arabia for murdering a Saudi man with a hatchet after a quarrel. The Interior Ministry said in a statement that the execution had been delayed until the Saudi man's children reached the legal age to decide on the murderer's fate. It did not say how long the matter had been delayed. Under Saudi Arabia's Islamic laws, a victim's immediate family can accept compensation, known as blood money, and spare the life of a convicted murderer.
