An insurance salesman convicted of murdering his lover's estranged husband in a plot to collect on an $800,000 insurance policy was sentenced to death. A jury recommended the death penalty for James Pavatt in September after convicting him of gunning down Rob Andrew Nov. 20, 2001. District Judge Susan Bragg imposed the sentence. Prosecutors say Pavatt, 49, planned the murder with Rob Andrew's wife, Brenda Andrew. She faces a murder trial Jan. 12.
