An Iranian man identified as Musa Noori, convicted of murdering a pilgrim in August 2003, was been hanged in Dehloran in the western Iranian province of Ilam, the Jomhuri Islami newspaper reported.
Noori, was found guilty of shooting Musa Vazir, identified as a somebody who was trying to make a pilgrimage to the holy Shiite Muslim sites in neighbouring Iraq.
The report said the family of the victim had demanded the execution, and said the execution took place to cheers of approval from a crowd gathered in the town's main square.
