An Iraqi opposition group said the Iraqi authorities executed three senior army officers early in March on charges of "assailing" and opposing Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.
The human rights office of the Iraqi Communist Party said the three officers are Major Muhammad Abdallah Shahin, Major Muhammad Najib and Major Muwaffaq - all from the city of Mosul in the north.
The same source said the authorities also executed three of the bodyguard officers at the Saddam Husayn Palace in Al-Tharthar area. One of the officers was from the Hamam al-Alil area in the suburbs of Mosul and the other from Diyali.
