Ankara State Security Court (DGM) No. 1 announced its verdict in the case of the "Sivas Incidents" which resulted in the killings of 37 people on July 2, 1993 in a Madimak hotel. The court sentenced 33 suspects to death at the end of the third trial. The reasoned verdict noted that the suspects were sentenced to death under Article 146 of the Turkish Penal Code for attempting to disturb the constitutional order by force.
