On September 10, State Minister Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik met with IHD Chairman Hunsu Ondul and IHD Board of Directors member Osman Baydemir to discuss Turkey's drive to improve its human rights record. Ondul said that the IHD would keep Irtemcelik informed regarding their campaigns for "freedom of thought" and against the death penalty.
