Anthony Lee Chaney, 45, white, was executed by lethal injection. He was pronounced dead at 15:10. He had been convicted of killing a white policeman, John B. Jamison, on 6th September 1982. He was the first person to be executed in the State during the year, the 20th since the State resumed executions in 1992. He was the 14th to be executed in the U.S. during the year and No 612 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
