At least five people have been executed in the capital for violent crimes. Sun Yetao, originally from Liaoning province, was convicted of the rape and murder of a student, 22, the Beijing Legal Times said. Sichuan peasants Zhang Changtai and Li Detie were executed after an armed robbery resulted in a death. Zhang Mingyin, from Henan province, who murdered his 18-year-old girlfriend, and fellow killer Piao Longtian, originally from Shandong, also were executed. The sentences were ordered by Beijing's No.2 Intermediate Court.
