At least seven people were executed in China after being found guilty of crimes including murder, embezzlement and poisoning, state media reported. Three people were executed by firing squad in the central city of Wuhan for killing a university professor and stealing his vehicle, 9,000 yuan (1,100 dollars) and two mobile phones, the paper said. In the capital Beijing a former director of several companies, including a subsidiary of China's largest investment company CITIC, was executed after being convicted of stealing more than 20 million yuan, the paper said. The ex-director, 36-year-old Liu Weifeng, was found to have spent 15 million yuan on personal use. Among the others who were executed were two migrants from eastern Zhejiang province who had been working in the capital and were found guilty of murder, according to the paper. Another man was put to death "recently" after being found guilty of adding rat poison to food served at a primary school at which he worked in the Yueyang district of south-central Hunan province, the paper said. No one was killed but 215 people were made ill. The man reportedly had a grudge against his boss. In a departure from normal practice, the executions were carried out on the orders of the Supreme Court.
