At the end of an open trial, the Qujing Intermediate Court held that Luo Wenyun, Li Caijin, Tao Fusheng, Li Lianglou, Wang Deshou and 11 other criminals jointly and separately committed crimes in 12 cases of raping and robbing in places under the jurisdiction of Yuwang township, Fuyuan County during the period from July 1998 to February 2000. By means of tracking, waiting for an opportunity, chasing, dragging, beating, threatening and coercing, they raped or raped by turns a total of 17 women.
The court sentenced Luo Wenyun and four other criminals to death and deprived them of their political rights all their lives; and sentenced the other 11 criminals separately to imprisonment for life, or to five years of imprisonment or longer.
