Attorney-General Amos Wako said he will refer treason charges against the National Convention Executive Council (NCEC) officials if they form a parallel government. Treason charges carry a sentence of capital punishment in Kenyan law. He said the concept of a parallel government undermines Kenyan constitutional and legal order and added that the officials "were treading on a slippery and perilous path".
