Attorney General, Daryl Williams is working on legislation which will profoundly alter Australia's criminal justice system

Attorney General, Daryl Williams is working on legislation which will profoundly alter Australia's criminal justice system. The new bill could cause a serious miscarriage of justice in the name of combating terrorism.
Under the proposed new law, people who are not even suspected of any crime can be detained and questioned by anonymous agents of the State.
The proposed legislation will give unprecedented powers to the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, without the safeguards which apply when similar powers are exercised by police.
It will take a huge step towards turning ASIO into a secret police empowered to make innocent people hand over information which can be used for the extra-judicial execution of suspects in other countries.
