A Kishoreganj court on 19 June 2019 awarded death sentence to three convict and lifetime imprisonment to seven in a murder case.
A Kishoreganj court on 19 June 2019 awarded death sentence to three convict and lifetime imprisonment to seven in a murder case.
The convicts sentenced to death are Abdul Awal, Al-Amin, Abdul Karim. All three hailed from Tansidla village under Hossainpur upazila in the district.
The seven convicts awarded lifetime were identified as Saifa Khatun, Abdul Kadir Fakir, Sofol, Sohel, Ripa Akter, Zohora Khatun alias Azufa and Abdur Rouf Fakir alias Rup Mia.
The court also fined each of them Tk 5 lakh.
Additional District and Session Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahim pronounced the verdict.
As per the prosecution, the convicted persons murdered Ashraful Islam Choyon over a family feud on 2 December 2005, at Hossainpur upazila in the district.
