BANGLADESH: 3 TO WALK GALLOWS FOR KILLING MEHERPUR AUTO DRIVER
A court in Meherpur on 23 October 2018 sentenced three people to death and two others to three years’ imprisonment for killing the driver of a battery-run auto-rickshaw in 2016.

A court in Meherpur on 23 October 2018 sentenced three people to death and two others to three years’ imprisonment for killing the driver of a battery-run auto-rickshaw in 2016.
The condemned convicts were identified as Alamgir Hossain, Mamun Hossain and Wasim Ali while those got three years in prison are Firoj Hossain and Kablu Islam. The duo was also fined Tk 20,000.
Additional District and Session’s Court Judge Md Nurul Islam passed the judgment.
According to the prosecution, the convicts hijacked the auto-rickshaw of Enayet Hossain Khokon, son of Jalil Khan, and strangulated him to death at Tengramari in Sadar upazila on October 27, 2016.
