BANGLADESH: COURT ORDERS TO HANG 15 FOR MURDER IN 2008

Fifteen people on 20 March 2019 were sentenced to the gallows for killing a garments businessman in Dohar 10 years ago.
Judge Pradip Kumar Roy of the First Additional Sessions Judge's court of Dhaka handed down the sentence at a packed court room.
The death row convicts are Siraj alias Sheru Karigor, Minhaj alias Minu, Md Khalil Karigor, Shajahan Karigor, Md Didar, Md Ershad, Kalu alias Kuti Karigor, Azahar Karigor, Miaz Uddin, Mojammel alias Suja, Abdul Jalil Karigor, Md Jalal, Md Billal, Md Ibrahim and Md Abdul Latif.
According to the prosecution, a group of miscreants led by Siraj attacked Nazrul, his wife and his mother over a land dispute on the morning of April 3, 2008 in Dohar.
Later Nazrul succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
