Nistar Ali was executed in Rajshahi Central Jail in Bangladesh for killing his wife Merina Begum, 22, in Beldanga village under Shapaher Upazila in Naogaon district on September 14, 1999. Ali was sentenced to death and fined Taka 10,000 by a Naogaon District and Session judge on September 14, 2003.
Subsequently, he was shifted to the Rajshahi Central Jail on October 16, 2003.
