five people were sentenced to death by a court in Kushtia, Bangladesh. The five are Sukur Ali, Kamrul, Sentu, Azanur Rahman and Mamun of Lalon Nagar village in Daulatpur upazila. Judge Akbar Mridha of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal awarded the death sentence and also fined the convicts Tk 1 lakh each. The five allegedly raped and killed Sabina, 13, daughter of Aziz of Lalon Nagar village on March 25, 2004. Police recovered the body of Sabina from a field nearby her house on March 27, 2004.
