A Gazipur court sentenced four to death for murdering a businessman in 2006. The verdict was handed down by Judge M Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1
The Court also fined them Tk. 10,000 and gave 14 years of rigorous imprisonment to them each.
The death-row convicts are Rubel alias Tiger Rubel, 35, Babu, 32, Ashraf 31, of Ershadnagar area of Tongi, and Soleman, 31, of Aouchpara area.
According to case statement, businessman Moksed Ali was chopped to death by the accused as he refused to pay them ransom money on January 27, 2006.
The Court also fined them Tk. 10,000 and gave 14 years of rigorous imprisonment to them each.
