BANGLADESH. HUSBAND TO WALK GALLOWS FOR KILLING WIFE

a District and Session’s court in Kushtia, Bangladesh, sentenced Rezaul Haque to death for the murder of his wife. His accomplices Rais, Zahurul and Farooq were sentenced to life imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Asia Khatun went to her father's home in Govindapur village as her husband had tortured her since their marriage.
On September 2, 2004, Rezaul and his three friends went to his father-in-law's house and hacked her with a sharp weapon leaving her critically injured. She died on way to the hospital.
