BANGLADESH. SEVEN PEOPLE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

They allegedly shot dead Moin Khan Imon at the government  primary school at Noorjahan Road on April 29, 2003. According to the prosecution, the accused demanded tolls from a cable operator who was relative of Moin. Moin opposed the payment of tolls earning the wrath of the extortionists. They held him at the Bismillah Restaurant at Kazi Nazrul Islam Road, hit him hard on his head with revolver butt and then took him to the primary school were they shot him dead. Two other accused in the case were acquitted.
