BANGLADESH: MAN AWARDED DEATH PENALTY FOR KILLING WIFE IN GAZIPUR

a court in Gazipur, Bangladesh, sentenced a man to death for killing his wife six years ago. The condemned convict was identified as Kazimuddin of Kewa village in Sreepur upazila of the district. According to the prosecution, Kazimuddin stabbed his wife Khodeza Akter, also a garments worker, to death at Chonnapara village in Sreepur upazila following a family feud on August 10, 2002. Additional Sessions Court-1 Judge Rezaul Karim handed down the verdict.
