in Sylhet, Bangladesh, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud sentenced a man to death for killing his wife. The condemned convict was identified as Abdul Mosabbir, 40, of Shashyaura village in Dakkhin, Surma upazila district. According to the prosecution, Mosabbir slaughtered his wife Khairunnesa, alias Gedoni, for her dowry on April 19, 2005. The killer also tried to commit suicide as his daughter Beauty saw him killing her mother.
