The convict was identified as Khurshid Alam of Nayanpur village in Daganbhuiyan. According to the prosecution, Khurshid mercilessly beat up his wife following a family feud on September 20, 2002.
As Khurshid's father Abdur Rashid, 75, slapped him for torturing his wife, Khurshid became furious and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
