BANGLADESH. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING WIFE
Hasibul Hasan alias Loton, 40, was sentenced to death by the Tribunal on Women and Children Repression Prevention in Sarker, Bangladesh, after being found guilty of killing his wife.

Hasibul Hasan alias Loton, 40, was sentenced to death by the Tribunal on Women and Children Repression Prevention in Sarker, Bangladesh, after being found guilty of killing his wife. Three others involved in the case, Loton's mother Hosne Ara, 60, and brothers Mizanur Rahman, 32, and Mohammad Arif, 25, were sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment. According to prosecution, Loton, with the help of his mother and brothers, strangled to death his 30 year old wife and mother of four Sakhina Begum in Badategharia village, Sadar, on May 7, due to an unmet dowry demand.
