in Dinajpur, Bangladesh, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge M Shamsul Huda sentenced Motiur Rahman Moti, 29, to death for killing his wife for dowry.
Motiur allegedly set his wife Asma Begum ablaze by pouring kerosene on her on August 29, 2007. She was rushed to Dhaka where she succumbed to her injuries after 12 days. Morjina Begum, Motiur’s mother, was acquitted.
