BANGLADESH: ONE TO GO TO GALLOWS IN MURDER CASE IN DINAJPUR

a special tribunal in Dinajpur, Bangladesh, sentenced a man to death for killing his wife. According to the prosecution, Anas Ali, 21, of Bekahar village in Birol upazila, strangled his wife Rubina Akhter, 18, on September 21, 2007, over a dowry demand. After the killing, villagers caught Anas and handed him over to police. After examining the records and witnesses, Judge Badsha Alamgir found him guilty and handed down the judgment.
