BANGLADESH: ONE TO WALK GALLOWS FOR MURDER IN CTG

A tribunal in Chittagong sentenced a youth to death for killing a businessman in 2013, reports UNB.
The convict is Faisal Islam Russel, 24, hailing from Rangunia upazila of the district. The court also fined him Tk 5000.
According to prosecution, stabbed his brother-in-law Shaheen, proprietor of ‘Computer Young’ at Singapore market in the city’s Agrabad area, to death for his (Shaheen) alleged extra-marital affair with Russel’s wife on October 5, 2013.
Police arrested Russel when he tried to flee the area after the murder.
Ibrahim, father of the deceased, filed a case against Russel with Doublemooring police station on the day.
Police submitted a charge sheet against Russel on January 11, 2014 while charges were framed on April 9 in the year.
