BANGLADESH. THREE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

three people were sentenced to death, one in absentia, by a court in Satkhira, Bangladesh, for killing a UP member at Baikari village, Sadar district.
Judge Osman Haider handed down the death penalty to Nesaruddin Gazi, 50, and Akshed, 45, while Kuran remained fugitive since the incident. According to the prosecution, the accused had a dispute over land with the victim, Abdus Salek, a member of the Baikari union. On the night of August 24, 1994 they went to Salek’s house, as he came out the accused allegedly hacked him to death.
