Judge Osman Haider handed down the death penalty to Nesaruddin Gazi, 50, and Akshed, 45, while Kuran remained fugitive since the incident. According to the prosecution, the accused had a dispute over land with the victim, Abdus Salek, a member of the Baikari union. On the night of August 24, 1994 they went to Salek’s house, as he came out the accused allegedly hacked him to death.
