South African national Michael Molefe, 50, was saved from the gallows after successfully appealing his death sentence to the Botswana Court of Appeals.

South African national Michael Molefe, 50, was saved from the gallows after successfully appealing his death sentence to the Botswana Court of Appeals. Judge Maruping Dibotelo of the Lobatse High Court sentenced him to death on March 7, 2008, for murdering Zimbabwean Robert Ncube in Mogoditshane. Molefe allegedly shot Ncube. The Appeals court found there were extenuating circumstances, including that the murder was not premeditated.
