Burundi is evaluating whether to abolish the death penalty, according to the Minister of National Solidarity and Human Rights. Françoise Ngendahayo made the comment at the International Conference on Child Soldiers in Paris. “The government and the Council of Ministers have already adopted the new penal code that abolishes the death penalty. The council has sent it to the Parliament, and they must adopt it shortly,” she said.
