Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin said he did not believe ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein should be executed for crimes against humanity. "I personally do not believe in the death penalty," Martin told CHUM TV. "The fact is international law right now would not permit the death penalty, but neither the United States nor Iraq have signed on to the particular covenants. So, essentially, the courts are going to decide. What's most important is that whatever decision comes down is one to be seen to be internationally credible."
