CHINA. 19 YEAR OLD SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court sentenced Fang Lei, 19, to death for robbery and murder. Fang, a former employee for a local express delivery company, was appointed to deliver a parcel to the victim surnamed Zhang on December 21, 2005. Seeing that Zhang was alone at home, Fang decided to rob her in order to have some money for the upcoming Spring Festival. He strangled Zhang to death and fled with 200 yuan (US$ 25).
