CHINA. COURT ORDERS EXECUTION OF DRUG TRAFFICKER, LIFE SENTENCES FOR MULES

Chengdu City Intermediate People's Court, pronounced the execution of Tang Mei, a female drug trafficker. The court also sentenced Zhao Haiying, Yu Xiaoqin and Zhu Guangmei, all females, to life imprisonment for smuggling drugs by swallowing them. It was reported that in May 2005, Tang asked Zhao, Yu and Zhu, to swallow 900 grams of heroin in Yunnan and travel to Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
